Tactical Approach
Under the guidance of head coach Sergio Lobera,
Odisha FC employed a dynamic and flexible tactical approach of 4-3-3 and
4-2-3-1 that significantly improved their performance this season, even though
there were eyebrows raised after the acquisition of some stars whose age was
not on their side the team did exceptionally well once they got all gelled up.
Sergio Lobera, known for his attacking philosophy & time management ensured
the team played a high-tempo, possession-based game with an emphasis on quick
transitions and pressing high up the pitch.
Odisha FC's strategy revolved around regaining possession quickly through
high pressing. This tactic disrupted the opponents' build-up play and created
immediate attacking opportunities, leveraging the speed and skill of their
forward players.

The midfield, orchestrated by the likes of puitea and ahmed jahouh, was pivotal in
maintaining possession and dictating the tempo of the game. The midfielders
frequently interchanged positions, making it difficult for opponents to mark
them effectively and creating spaces for forwards to exploit.
Despite their attacking inclination, Odisha FC maintained a compact
defensive structure. The backline, led by experienced defenders like Carlos
Delgado, Mortada fall and Narender Gahlot, focused on staying organized and minimizing gaps.
This balance ensured that while they were potent in attack, they remained
difficult to break down defensively, while Amey ranawade talking darting runs into the attack from the RB positions.
Odisha's attacking prowess was marked by versatility. Players like Diego
Mauricio provided a consistent goal threat, while Isak Ralte and Roy Krishna
offered width and creativity from the flanks. This multi-dimensional attack
made it challenging for opponents to predict and counter Odisha's offensive
moves.

Odisha FC made it to the semi-finals of the ISL playoffs, a statement to
their consistent performance throughout the season. They secured crucial
victories in the knockout stages, including a thrilling comeback win against
Kerala Blasters, They also finished above Mohun Bagan Super giants and Bashundhara Kings in the AFC Group and made it to the inter zonal semifinals against Central Coast mariners which they eventually lost with central coast mariners winning the AFC CUP!
Several players earned individual accolades for their stellar performances.
Notably, Diego Mauricio was among the top scorers of the league, and Isak
Ralte's performances in midfield were widely praised.
The team achieved significant milestones, including maintaining an unbeaten
streak during a crucial phase of the season and recording back-to-back
victories against strong opponents like Kerala Blasters and Hyderabad FC, Playing
at the Kalinga Stadium, Odisha FC enjoyed robust support from their home fans.
This support played a crucial role in their home performances, making the stadium
a fortress where they secured many vital wins.
under Sergio Lobera's astute management, combined an aggressive pressing
game with a disciplined defensive approach. Their flexibility and depth in
attack, coupled with a solid midfield and defense, propelled them to a
successful season, culminating in a strong playoff run and several individual
accolades. This season has set a new benchmark for the club, highlighting their
